A New Look Club
Colwyn Bay Chess Club is one of the oldest clubs in Wales, but has launched its latest season with a revamped look and wider ambitions.
Already several fresh faces have been attracted to the club’s new and much improved venue at the Parkway Community Centre in Rhos-on-Sea, where the facilities are second to none.
Here you can relax over a friendly game in well-lit, comfortable and spacious surroundings, with a cup of coffee or tea to hand from the well-equipped kitchen.
Want to Improve?
The club already has several strong players – some of the best in North Wales. In fact, we are the only team in Conwy competing successfully in both the Cheshire and Gwynedd leagues.
Free Coaching
The club provides free coaching for all members. Take a look here for more information on free coaching.
But we know we need to work even harder at widening our player base, with more improvers and beginners - and youngsters especially.
At our new venue, with many more tables than we enjoyed previously, we very much look forward to doing that.
Membership Costs
We meet summer and winter (see Venue), and for one-year’s membership cost the fees are:
- Adults: £20
- Juniors (Under 16) and unemployed: £10
We Welcome Disabled Members
Our venue has full disabled access and facilites and we welcome disabled players among us.
Give us a Try
We offer FREE trial membership for one month for people – regardless of experience – to ‘try before you buy’. This is a great way to see if the club is for you.
